Meet your planners
Jim Crone
Founder, Insurance Advisor
Jim is the co-founder of Acru Insurance, an insurance strategy firm started in Woodstock, GA. With more than 25 years of advanced planning experience working with clients on their Personal and Business Insurance planning needs, Jim has demonstrated his expertise in communicating simple and complex insurance solutions related to life, long-term care, disability insurance and annuities. His writing has been featured in both newspapers as well as trade periodicals.
Jim earned his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of Central Florida majoring in Management where he also played baseball on a four-year scholarship, finishing his collegiate career as captain of the team. He holds a Series 6, 63 and 26. Jim has also obtained the Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU) and Certified Fund Specialist (CFS) designations and is a registered representative of The Strategic Financial Alliance.
Tom Crone
Insurance Planner
Tom joined Acru in 2017 in a part-time capacity and transitioned to a full-time role in 2024. He brings valuable insights and diverse perspectives from his background in the defense and government contracting sectors. His analytical skills have helped clients take a more holistic approach to planning. Tom also continues to serve part-time in the Army National Guard.
Tom earned a Bachelor of Arts in International Studies and Spanish from Mount St. Mary’s University in 2016. He is currently pursuing a CLU designation and expects to complete it by 2026.
